(Ghost Village) Kayaköy (Levissi Karmylassos) is a village 8 km south of Fethiye where Greek speaking Christians lived until approximately 1923. The ghost village where you can wander around the now preserved museum village, consists of hundreds of rundown but still mostly intact Greek-style houses and churches which cover a small mountainside and serve as a stopping place for tourists visiting Fethiye and nearby Oludeniz. There are very good restaurants in the area most popular being the cook it yourself bar b ques under the shade of the trees and famed lamb known as Lamb Tander cooked in underground ovens.
